    Big Fat Greek Tax Cheats

The very government officials in Greece entrusted to convince the rest of the population to pay their taxes are pulling a full-on “Do as I say, not as I do.”

But at least one Greek businessman won’t let that cheater’s game continue.

Costas Bakouris is chairman of Transparency International Greece, an organization that fights corruption in that country. He joined us exclusively on “Countdown to the Closing Bell” today, live from Athens.

Number one, he talked about how the (at least) 234 government officials busted for not paying taxes will be prosecuted if they don’t cough up the phyllo dough they owe in back-taxes.  He also said that while the issues are challenging, the euro WILL survive

I’m much more likely to believe a guy like Bakouris.  He’s a businessman who’s willing to fight to restore Greek integrity.  I was thrilled to have him give us the perspective needed on this point. His interview is below.

Hi Liz, I watch your program everyday, I was very disapointed in Fox Business for interviewing a known Adulterer, jesse Jackson. He is one person I have NO respect for.

HOW COULD THE EURO BE APPLIED TO SO MANY COUNTRIES, ESPECIALLY WHEN EACH COUNTRY HAS A DIFFERENT ECONOMY, NO CURRENCY CAN HAVE THE SAME VALUES. HOW & WHY WOULD YOU WANT THE SAME CURRENCY, ATTACHED TO SO MANY COUNTRIES. WHAT TAKES PLACE IN GREECE IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN ITALY.

Liz, I love ya but I think that "big fat Greek" thing has run its course. It was cute the first time a business journalist used it, but now? Mmmm...not so much.
