Cypress Semi CEO: "Big Gov't Spending the Wrong Path"

TJ Rodgers is unlike any other CEO in this country for a whole host of reasons.  I respect him because he founded companies, bought floundering ones and turned them into money-makers, and he's an independent thinker.  You don't have to agree with his Libertarian focus on every level but you *have* to listen to the interview below about what he thinks of both Democrat and Republican government ... read more

No Wrinkles For Now in NuSkin's Biz Plan

I love it when a company quietly goes about its business and kicks major tail. NuSkin (NUS) came on Countdown to the Closing Bell today in a Fox Business Exclusive.  They're doing just that. They make anti-aging products that aren't cheap.  Some of their "serums" cost upwards of $400 but guess what? Customers don't care.  The company matched estimates, they're growing right and left, and ... read more

Gold Will Continue to Glitter

So says George Gero of RBC who's one of our favorite metals traders at Fox Business.  Gold skyrocketed to an all-time new record high today on dollar weakness.    I had anticipated this and brought in my fancy little Krugerrand my dad gave me years ago.  He actually kept them hidden in the wall of our house in L.A., explaining that "if the Nazis ever came, they wouldn't take dollar bills."  ... read more

Food Deflation and The Ultimate Cookie Recipe

For some reason, my inner Martha Stewart came out this weekend and I rushed to the grocery store to get ingredients for... THE ULTIMATE COOKIE. This is a recipe a trainer gave me at Bally's Scandinavian in Cleveland (yes, I belonged in the '90's).  It involves eggs, butter, oats, etc.  I'm not Miss Domestic or anything but I do know that one year ago, every single ingredient except *maybe* ... read more

The U.S. Dollar is 'Way Oversold'???

The chorus of dollar bears has gotten louder and louder as each week goes by.  "It's heading to post-war 'Deutschemarks-filling-a-wheel-barrow-just-to-buy-a-loaf-of-bread' status!" "We're printing too much money and the dollar will be horribly devalued!" "Interests rates are too low to prop up the greenback!" But today a lone voice emerged on Fox Business to say, "WE'RE LONG THE ... read more

Langone on Business and Gov't: Oil and Water?

Home Depot co-founder Ken Langone was my special guest on Countdown to the Closing Bell yesterday.  I wanted to immediately post the clips in case you missed it because it's been a long time since I got this much viewer response and feedback on an interview other than one with Warren Buffett. Langone is the son of a plumber. He was born a businessman, became a billionaire by, among other ... read more

Liz and Imus

Okay, let's just say I was nervous. I've been on Don's show before, but only by phone. In person? Big diff. But then I got out there. First of all, he's using my set at Fox Business so it was like I was home. Secondly, the same members of the floor crew gang we all work with were all there too so I was with my buddies. Third, the mini football started flying in the commercial break and I ... read more

Wii Waterski: Live from Electronic Arts

Okay so maybe it's not exactly something Edward R. Murrow would have done but I figured I'd understand Electronic Arts' products better if I used them myself vs. pontificating about them or only going by what gamer-bloggers say. So, I joined EA's Jen Riley (she's Canadian but screams California) in a Wii Waterski session.  Wii Sports Active is getting more and more popular with dozens of games ... read more

Buffett talks to FBN About BNI Buy and More

Warren Buffett woke up a week ago and decided to buy an entire railroad. The way he describes it to Fox Business is that he went to Texas to go check in on his investment in Burlington Northern and was so impressed by the presentation CEO Matt Rose and his team made that he sat down with Matt and said, "How 'bout I buy the entire company?" The whole conversation, according to Buffett, took ... read more

U.S. anti-foreign worker policy "Brain Dead" says Cal Prof

You guys know I've been out to Silicon Valley countless times to talk to all the hot start-ups and huge tech companies. They all say the same thing: If the U.S. is to stay competitive, we've got to keep open the channels that funnel skilled foreign workers here through the H1-B visa program.  Same actually goes for Wall Street. If they can't find American workers for big jobs in finance and ... read more
